zombies at heart

Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead, and the blurry line in between. - rotten tomatoes

This is like Twilight back in those days, where its a first in its kind type of genre. A zombie typically known to have no emotions suddenly gets cold feet  or warm-bodies.

“I want to change my punctuation. I long for exclamation marks, but I’m drowning in ellipses.”

Warm Bodies

R is a young man with an existential crisis--he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, noidentity, and no pulse, but he has dreams.

After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and stragely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world.

That I would never go anywhere in my life

samurai X

I have been an avid fan of Samurai X ever since from manga series to OVA's. Then came the live action film adaptation of it ( where here in our country, was exclusively shown to selected cinemas). Based from the recent critics, the adaption blows some of the critics meager expectations &  It was not only a good adaptation but also a good movie in its own right. So better get started.. :)

Rurouni Kenshin

Hitokiri Battōsai participates in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi and walks away from the battlefield as the victorious Imperialist forces celebrate. After a decade, he, now calling himself Himura Kenshin, arrives in Tokyo and meets Kamiya Kaoru, the owner of a Kendo school left to her by her father. Kaouru's only student is a boy named Myōjin Yahiko. Kenshin soon moves in with them after stopping a group of thugs in the employ of Kanryu Takeda from taking over the dojo. Takani Megumi, who had escaped from Takeda after being forced to make opium, also joins the group. She provides medication for the victims of poisoning who come to the dojo for help after one of Takeda's men puts rat poison in the community wells. Angry at Takeda, Megumi attempts to kill him, but is prevented from doing so and held hostage. Kenshin and Sagara Sanosuke attack Takeda's mansion, besting all his men. Saito Hajime then helps them subdue Takeda, who had armed himself with a gatling gun. They rescue Megumi, but discover that one of Takeda's men, Jin-e Udo, has kidnapped Kaoru. Kenshin pursues Jin-e and a duel ensues, ending when Kenshin shatters Jin-e's elbow with his scabbard. Jin-e then commits suicide. Kenshin takes the unconscious Kaoru back to the dojo, where upon waking up, she tells Kenshin that the dojo is now his home.

deck the hex hall.. tra-la-la

Hex Hall Trilogy

- Hailed as “impossible to put down,” the Hex Hall series has both critics and teens cheering. With a winning combination of romance, action, magic and humor, this third volume will leave readers enchanted. - goodreads

Hex Hall - Book 1

“Archer isn't hot anymore.... He tried to kill me, and his girlfriend is Satan.”

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters. By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect. As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

Demonglass - Book 2

“None of this makes any sense."
"I'm beginning to think I should make that the title of my autobiography.”

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers. But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

Spell Bound - Book 3

“People are so rarely villains in their own minds.”

Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident. Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?

aca-perfect

The movie isn’t a botch; it’s a tease. Gleeks and Glee-haters alike should rally around this raucous musical comedy. I mean, with monster like mash-ups of the 12's music who wouldn't get pitch-slapped?

Pitch Perfect

The film revolves around the Bellas, an all-female a capella group from Barden University. Reeling from a humiliating loss at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, the group struggles to find new members the next year. Beca, a Barden freshman, has no desire to go to college, but is forced to attend by her father, a professor at the university. Wishing to instead move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a DJ, she takes up an internship at the school radio station, where she meets fellow freshman Jesse. When Beca's father finds out that Beca has not been attending classes, he offers to let Beca go to Los Angeles if she joins a club and proves that she wants to be involved. After some persuasion from Aubrey, the group leader, and Chloe, she joins the Bellas, along with a group of other women who do not fit the Bellas' typical mold. At practice, Aubrey's controlling nature gets on the nerves of the other girls. She is constantly critical and insists that they use the same set list the Bellas have been using for years, which clashes with Beca's contemporary style. Meanwhile, Beca hangs out with Jesse—who has joined the Treble Makers, the Bellas' main rival—despite Aubrey's warning to the group not to get involved with Treble Makers. Beca plays several of her own mixes of contemporary songs for him, and he compliments her for her talent. He then tries to get Beca to watch the ending of The Breakfast Club, his favorite movie, after Beca tells him she does not like movies because they bore her and she never gets to the ending. Despite their issues, the Bellas attend the regional a capella competition. On the way to the venue, the group stops for gas where Fat Amy is hit by a burrito by Bumper, a member of the Treble Makers in their own bus. After the other girls clean her up, they continue on to the venue but run out of gas since Fat Amy forgot to actually put any in the bus. They're then forced to call the Treble Makers to drive them to the venue. In spite of their bland set list, the group manages to place second at the regional a capella competition. At the semifinals, Beca notices how bored the audience is with Aubrey's traditional arrangement, so she provides impromptu back-up, mash-up vocals. The Bellas come in third in the competition behind the Treble Makers and another group. Even though the audience was pleased, Aubrey was not and Beca quits the group. The Bellas make it into the Nationals after the other group was disqualified because their lead singer was discovered to be in high school, not college. They get together after Spring Break, but this time, Beca is not included. During this time, Beca begins working as a DJ at the university radio station, playing her music on the overnight shift, and also steadily distancing herself from Jesse. She finds a copy of The Breakfast Club and watches it. She realizes how much she needs the Bellas in her life. Her father convinces her to rejoin the Bellas, who she finds falling apart. The now complete again Bellas have a heart-to-heart and decide to kick things up a notch with Beca's 21st-century mash-ups. At the National Competition, the Bellas sing a piece arranged by Beca, including "Don't You (Forget About Me)", the theme from The Breakfast Club. The Bellas win the competition and Beca and Jesse reunite with a kiss.

reflected in you

No shades of grey here…Sylvia Day writes in full blown TECHNICOLOR! She paints Eva and Gideon’s intense, passionate, tumultuous relationship, in rich vivid detail. Just when you think their troubles are behind them, think again! -karla; goodreads.

Reflected In You  ( Book2 of Crossfire Series )

Totally bared. Our pleasure reflected in each other. "

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction… my every desire… mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful… except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession…

bared to you

To all Fifty Shades Of Grey fanatics, you will surely love this book. In comparison with FSOG, a lot of reviews indicated that this book is sophisticated, provocative, titillating, highly erotic, sexually driven read and is extremely well done. Well it is.

Bared To You ( Book 1 of Crossfire Series )

" Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…"

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as i prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...
